HOW EVERYTHING STARTED
At Grano Tortillería, everything started with a simple problem: we couldn’t find a tortilla that tasted the way it should.
We own restaurants, and we searched everywhere for organic corn tortillas, flavorful flour tortillas, and chips that were clean, affordable, and truly delicious. What we found was disappointing — expensive “organic” options with additives, or plain white tortillas that tasted flat and lifeless.
We wanted more.
We wanted to taste the corn.
We wanted balance.
We wanted a tortilla that felt like coming home.
Finding the Perfect Recipe
So, we rolled up our sleeves and went to work — experimenting with different corns, grinding our own masa, and failing (a lot!) along the way.
After many trials, we finally created the tortilla we had been dreaming of:
- Just corn, a touch of kosher salt, water, and cal (lime).
- Nothing else.
- Pure, simple, and naturally full of flavor.
When we started turning these tortillas into chips, something magical happened — our customers loved them. We began serving our tortillas and chips in our own restaurants, and soon people were asking,
"Why don’t you sell these to everyone?"
